Crypto Keno Calculator: 40/10 Odds, Payout, RTP and EV
Calculate match probabilities and payouts for a 40-number, 10-draw game, or enter another format. Add the complete paytable to calculate RTP and expected net results. Both built-in six-pick tables are illustrative examples, not casino presets.
Calculate odds and payout
Choose a sample or keep your own inputs. The target multiplier is read directly from the complete paytable; edit its row to test a different payout. Use total-return multipliers: 1× returns the stake, and a multiplier below 1× leaves a net loss.

Optional payout limit
Calculator results
Results use the complete paytable and stake.
No payout limit is modeled unless entered.
EV is an expected net result, not a session forecast or loss limit. Amounts exclude fees, taxes, bonuses and currency conversion. Values are rounded for display; operator-specific currency rounding is not modeled.
One-outcome EV illustration
This separate model pays only the selected hit count and sets all other payouts to zero. It equals full-game EV only when every other outcome really pays nothing.
Paytable RTP and house edge
RTP sums the expected return from every feasible outcome. Any-payout probability includes partial returns and stake returns; net-profit probability includes only returns above the stake.
Total wagered is stake × rounds, including money wagered again. It is not an initial deposit or bankroll.
Compare with a reference RTP
A benchmark does not change the entered game.
40/10 vs 80/20 odds comparison
This compares the same picks and target hits under both draw formats. A single chosen number has a 25% match chance in each, but multi-number probabilities differ because numbers are drawn without replacement. Zero hits and no payout are different events unless the table makes them identical.

RTP contribution by hit count
Each exact-hit row contributes probability × effective multiplier to RTP. Contributions are shown in percentage points. If a limit reduces a payout, both the original and effective multipliers appear below.

Worked examples: six picks and three matches
These examples use the page’s two illustrative tables, a stake of 10 units and no payout limit. Both the draw format and paytable differ, so the RTP difference cannot be attributed to the format alone.
| Example | Exact probability | Multiplier | Gross payout | Full-table RTP | Expected net loss / 1,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40/10 sample | 12.6929% | 2.37× | 23.70 | 96.9647% | 30.35 |
| 80/20 sample | 12.9820% | 1.98× | 19.80 | 94.9556% | 50.44 |
In the 40/10 example, exactly three matches return 23.70, for a 13.70 net profit on that result. Two matches return only 4.70, leaving a 5.30 loss. The full-table return remains 96.9647%; selecting a different target row does not change it.
Zero hits occur with probability 15.4694%, while no payout occurs with probability 52.5960%. The larger second figure includes the one-hit result, which also pays zero in this example.
Why the same 25% draw ratio gives different odds
Ten of forty and twenty of eighty both draw one quarter of the pool. After one of your picks is matched, however, the remaining counts differ. The chance of matching every pick is therefore not simply 0.25 raised to the number of picks.
| All picks matched | 40 numbers / 10 drawn | 80 numbers / 20 drawn |
|---|---|---|
| 1 of 1 | 25.00000000% 1 in 4.00 | 25.00000000% 1 in 4.00 |
| 3 of 3 | 1.21457490% 1 in 82.33 | 1.38753651% 1 in 72.07 |
| 6 of 6 | 0.00547106% 1 in 18,278.00 | 0.01289849% 1 in 7,752.84 |
| 10 of 10 | 0.00000012% 1 in 847,660,528.00 | 0.00001122% 1 in 8,911,711.18 |
Matching all six is approximately 1 in 18,278.57 for 40/10 and 1 in 7,752.84 for 80/20. This does not establish which game has a better RTP: the payouts still need to be included. Use the odds calculator for other hit counts.
Does paying in cryptocurrency change Keno odds?
The payment unit alone does not change the hit distribution. What matters is the number pool, draw size and pick count. For return and expected loss, also include the complete paytable and any limits. The label “crypto Keno” does not identify one universal format or RTP.
A stake of 0.0001 BTC and a 2.37× total-return multiplier give 0.000237 BTC gross and 0.000137 BTC net profit if that result occurs, before limits or fees. No BTC-to-dollar price is needed for that calculation. If a rule quotes the stake and limit in different currencies, express both in the same units before entering them.
The calculator supports uniform draws without replacement. Payouts based on draw order, bonus balls, progressive jackpots or side bets need additional rules that a basic hit-count table cannot represent.
The hypergeometric odds formula
The calculator uses the same hypergeometric logic as standard Keno. The draw is treated as sampling without replacement. That means the formula must account for the finite pool and the fact that a number cannot be drawn twice in the same round.
P(h hits) = C(picks, h) × C(pool − picks, drawn − h) / C(pool, drawn)
C(a, b) counts combinations. For exactly three of six in a 40/10 draw, the numerator chooses three matches from your six picks and seven other numbers from the remaining 34. Dividing by every possible ten-number draw gives 12.6929%. At least three matches also includes four, five and six; its probability is 15.2752%.
Enter the rules for your game
- Set the pool, draw size and number of picks to match the selected game.
- Copy its complete paytable for that pick count and difficulty. Include zero-paying outcomes, even when no prize is listed for them.
- Enter a positive stake and, if relevant, the payout limit. A gross-return limit includes the stake; a net-profit limit excludes it.
- Choose a target hit count to inspect that payout. The full-table RTP and EV still include every paying outcome.
A fixed money limit can reduce effective multipliers when stake increases. With proportional payouts and no binding limit, changing stake changes monetary EV but leaves RTP unchanged.

Payout, RTP and expected loss
Gross payout answers what one result returns. RTP averages every payout in the complete table. Net EV subtracts the original stake from that expected return.
Gross return = stake × multiplier, subject to the entered limit
RTP = Σ exact-hit probability × effective total-return multiplier
Net EV per round = stake × (RTP − 1)
For hypothetical returns of 99%, 99.9% and 100%, expected net results over 1,000 units wagered are −10, −1 and 0 units respectively, before fees. Selecting one of these benchmarks does not change the payout table or make the entered game return that percentage.
A 100% theoretical return means zero expected edge under those assumptions; it does not guarantee a break-even session. For a dedicated calculation, see Keno RTP and house edge.
Common mistakes to avoid
Using the wrong format
Classic 80/20 odds and compact 40/10 odds are not interchangeable. Always check the actual game format first.
Reading RTP as a short-term promise
RTP is a long-run theoretical return. A short session can land far above or below the calculated number.
Trusting number patterns
Hot numbers, cold numbers and previous draws do not make future numbers predictable in a fair independent draw.

Calculation method and sample tables
Exact-hit probabilities use the hypergeometric distribution for a uniform draw without replacement. The 40/10 and 80/20 sample multipliers are illustrative inputs. Their calculated returns are 96.9647% and 94.9556%, respectively, before limits.
No live casino paytable, currency price, bonus or maximum award is imported. Expected results assume the same stake and rules over all entered rounds. Provably fair verification concerns how outcomes are generated; it does not by itself establish the return of a payout table.
Frequently asked questions
What does the crypto Keno calculator calculate?
It calculates exact-hit and at-least-hit probabilities, payouts, complete-paytable RTP, house edge and expected net results. It also compares the same picks and target hits under 40/10 and 80/20 draw formats.
Is crypto Keno always a 40/10 game?
No. Crypto describes the payment context, not a universal draw format or paytable. Use the pool, draw size, picks and payout table for the selected game.
Does paying in BTC or USDT change the odds?
The currency alone does not change hit probabilities. The number pool, draw size and picks determine the odds. Use the same currency units for the stake and any payout limit; this calculator does not convert exchange rates.
Are the sample paytables from a casino?
No. Both six-pick tables are illustrative. Before limits, the 40/10 sample calculates to 96.9647% RTP and the 80/20 sample to 94.9556%. They are not operator-specific returns.
Why are zero hits and no payout different?
Zero hits means none of your picks match. No payout includes every outcome returning zero. A table may also pay for zero hits or have gaps between paying hit counts, so no-payout probability must use the full table.
Can a payout still be a loss?
Yes. A total-return multiplier below 1× returns less than the stake. For example, 0.47× on a 10-unit stake returns 4.70 and produces a net loss of 5.30.
Does choosing the 100% RTP benchmark change the game?
No. The benchmark only shows a hypothetical comparison. It does not change the multipliers, calculated paytable RTP, main EV or hit probabilities. Even a 100% theoretical return would not guarantee a break-even session.
Can this calculator predict Keno numbers?
No. It calculates probabilities and expected returns. Under a uniform independent draw model, past results do not improve the odds of a same-sized number selection in the next round.
